My personal philosophy of teaching includes aspects pertaining to the learner, the parents, and the teachers. The most important aspect of my philosophy has to do with the students. The students must feel safe and happy in the classroom environment. I want students to enjoy school and feel comfortable in their class. The well being of the students is essential in order to have a productive and effective learning environment. In order for these goals to be attained, the teachers and parents have to play an active role in the academic lives of the students. A teacher’s role in a classroom can make or break a learner’s experiences at school. There are many ways a teacher can provide an ideal learning environment for their students. A teacher must establish a level of respect for the students and in turn the students will respect the teacher. I think the discipline is an essential aspect of a classroom. The teacher, along with the collaboration of the students must establish a set of rules for the class, and students should understand the consequences, should they break the rules. This helps to create an environment of mutual respect and understanding.

As a teacher, I feel it is important to be aware of the interests of the students as well as the individual needs of each learner. It is important for the teacher to educate the students, but also provide an environment that is fun and enjoyable for the students. The parents play an essential role in my philosophy of teaching. It is important for parents to be involved in their children’s lives at school. They should be aware of what is going on in the classroom and be conscious of their child’s progress in class. It is important at the elementary level for parents to be available to their children at home to help with schoolwork. Students receive homework every night, and it is very helpful to them to have a parent at home to help when necessary and aid with time management. There are a lot of people involved in a learner’s education besides the actual students. Teachers and parents are just a few of the people involved in the education process but they are the essential individuals in order to create a safe, enjoyable and effective learning environment for all students.
